November Newsletter 2024

November Newsletter 2024

Welcome November, the month of giving thanks and counting our blessings.  I want to tell you how busy we've been making, receiving and delivering blankets again this month, but it's becoming our normal!  Again this month we've received and donated about 200 blankets.  We've received blankets from our regular dedicated blanketeers and have received donations from those wanting to give back.

As we embrace the spirit of giving thanks this month, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt appreciation to all of you.  Your support has made a tremendous difference, and in this newsletter we are excited to share an update on Smith's Inspiring Donations, messages we've received and pictures of some of our blanket donations.

Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Warm regards,
    Karen & Millie

Smith's Inspiring Donations Update

Earlier this year we posted about the opportunity for us to receive "free money" from Smith's Inspiring Donations program.  If you are a Smith's shopper and link your rewards card to our local chapter, Smith's will donate .05% of your eligible purchases to us!  Yes FREE $$$$!  We receive the donation on a quarterly basis and our donations have increased this year but I know we can do better.  If you, your family or your friends are Smith's shoppers, please sign up to support our chapter.  It's easy!  Click on our "Ways to Help" tab at the top of our blog and there are step by step instructions.  Happy Shopping!

Thank You's

Thank you to Jackie M. who donated baby blankets to our chapter in October.  This is an excerpt from her message "This project has a special meaning to me as I had 2 twin grandchildren born at 28 weeks that spent over 100 days in the Idaho Falls NICU.  Thank you for allowing me to be part of Project Linus."

Thank you to Elizabeth R. who contacted us wanting to make blankets.  She stated in part, "I have had two children in the NICU at St. Mark's Hospital and both have been recipients of these blankets.  I would like to pay back."  We are excited to receive her donations when her blankets are finished.

These are just some of the examples of how we fulfill the second part of our mission which is to "Provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children."  We appreciate all of those who are giving back.

Below is a thank you from DDI Advantage which is one of the organizations to which we make a monthly donation.  DDI Advantage promotes and provides exemplary services to facilitate the development and independence of children, adults and families with special needs.  Serving the community since 1971, DDI Vantage offers Early Intervention Early Head Start and Child Care, and Adult and Youth Services programs  Click here to learn more about DDI Vantage.  We are humbled to be able to support this amazing organization.
