2025 December Newsletter

In this month's newsletter we invite you to share in the warmth and generosity that define the December season.  As we reflect on a year of support and connection, we are excited to highlight our final fundraiser of the year.  We are also grateful to share another uplifting visit from the Coach team and the meaningful blankets we donated to the Salt Lake City Police Department for their Pay It Forward event.

May this season of giving remind us of the impact we can create together.  Wishing you joy as you enjoy the newsletter and embrace the season of giving.

A Season of Giving Kick-Off

December is a month full of joy and celebration.  This year it brings an extra-special milestone.  On December 24th, Project Linus celebrates its 30th anniversary!  Over the past three decades, more than 10 million blankets have been delivered to children in need, each one a symbol of comfort, care and love.

Our chapter is proud to share that we reached an incredible milestone of our own this year:  40,000 blankets distributed since 2007.  And, thanks to the dedication of our amazing volunteers, we are on track to deliver more than 3,000 blankets to our local community in 2025.

This leads us into one final fundraising push for the year!  Click HERE to be directed to the fundraising information on our National Project Linus website or click on our "Announcements" tab.  (Don't forget to identify "Salt Lake County Utah" if you want your donation to go directly to our chapter.💙)

Once again, we couldn't achieve any of this without the support, generosity, and love from all of you.  Thank you for helping us bring comfort to children, one blanket at a time.

Visiting "Blanketeers" from the Coach Stores

At our November blanket making day at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church we were delighted to welcome back the "Coach" group!  These are employees from our local Coach stores who joined us for a special blanket making day as part of the Coach Cares volunteer program.  It was wonderful to see familiar faces returning, as well as new volunteers experiencing the joy of blanket making for the first time.  Their energy, kindness, and teamwork helped us reach our blanket goal for the month.  Our day was filled with laughter, connection and purpose.

We truly loved having them with us and hope to share more days like this together in 2026!

Pay it Forward Event - Salt Lake City Police Department

We are honored to provide blankets to the Salt Lake City Police Department for their upcoming Pay it Forward event on December 13th.  During this special day, not only will children receive one of our blankets, they will also enjoy a festive breakfast at the Grand America before heading to Smith's on Parleys Way for a joyful shopping experience.

This event is sure to create lasting memories and bring meaningful moments to the children involved.  We are truly thrilled to play a small part in such a wonderful celebration of kindness and community.

With special thanks to Sgt. Greg Wilking and Detective Mike Ruff for picking up the blankets for the event.  We appreciate their time, support and dedication to the local community.

Closing the Year with Love, Light and Gratitude

As we wrap up another meaningful year, we send our warmest wishes for a joyful and peaceful holiday season to each of you who support our chapter.  Thanks to your kindness and dedication, we've been able to share warmth and comfort with so many children in our community through the blankets crafted with love.

We are deeply grateful for all you do, and we look forward to spreading even more love, joy and comfort in the year ahead.

💙💙💙
