Warrior Wagons - A New Partner With Our Chapter

We are excited to welcome Warrior Wagons as one of our newest community partners!  When the founder of Warrior Wagons reached out to ask if our chapter would be interested in providing blankets for their wagons, our answer was an enthusiastic "YES!"  After all, what could be better than combining wagons filled with love and support with blanket hugs from Project Linus?

Warrior Wagons has expanded its wonderful program to the Pediatric Oncology Unit at Primary Children's Hospital.  They provide thoughtfully assembled wagons of comfort for children undergoing treatment and their families.  We are honored that our blankets can be part of these special gifts and help bring a little warmth and encouragement during challenging times.

We are grateful for the opportunity to support this amazing project and look forward to building a long and meaningful partnership together.  What a wonderful reminder that when caring organizations come together, even more comfort can reach the children who need it most.

Have You Seen the Fleece Fairy?

We are beginning to wonder if the Fleece Fairy has packed up her magic wand and moved away.

Ever since Joann closed its doors, finding quality fleece has become a bit of an adventure.  We were certainly spoiled by those endless shelves of colors, prints, and sales where we could squeeze, stretch, and inspect every bolt before bringing it home.  Sadly, those days seem to have fluttered off into the sunset.

Since then, we have been testing fleece from a variety of vendors.  Some have generously offered discount codes for Project Linus.  The results have ranged from "Wow, this is great!" to "Well, it will do."

Thankfully, several generous donors who stocked up during the Joann closing sales have shared portions of their fleece stashes with our chapter.  We are incredibly grateful for these donations and the kindness behind them.

If you or someone you know has blanket sized fleece tucked away in a closet, sewing room, storage bin, or secret fabric vault and would like to pass it along, we would love to give it a new purpose.  Our chapter will happily accept donations and turn that fleece into blanket hugs for children in need.

In the meantime, if you are shopping for fleece to make blankets for our chapter, feel free to reach out to Karen or Millie.  We are happy to share information about the vendors we have tried and help point you toward some of the better options we have found.

Hopefully, with enough luck and a little help from our friends, the Fleece Fairy will find her way back to us someday.

Farewell Pastor Phil

We would like to extend out heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Pastor Phil as he begins a new chapter serving a parish in Southern Utah.  While we are excited for this new opportunity, we will certainly miss seeing him around our chapter.

Mountain Vista United Methodist Church has long been a wonderful supporter of Project Linus.  Pastor Phil has been an important part of that support.  He was an enthusiastic participant in the church quilting group.  He generously shared his talent by creating and donating many beautiful quilts over the years.

His final quilt for our chapter seems especially fitting.  Bright, cheerful, and full of warmth, it will cast a ray of sunshine over its special recipient.

Thank you, Pastor Phil, for your kindness, creativity, and dedication.  We wish you many blessings, new friendships, and plenty of opportunities to keep those quilting skills sharp in your new community.
