February 2017 Newsletter

This is the month to celebrate love.  Our Linus blanket gifts of love will continue to go out to children in need because of each of you.  You are the caring volunteers, who contribute, and create beautiful handwork for the happiness of those little ones who need some love.

Thanks comes in many forms – here is one from Toy:

Teaching children to volunteer and help those less fortunate than themselves has been the goal of Highland Park Elementary teacher Peter Lingen.  His forth grade students love to make blankets and they also raised cash to contribute to Project Linus.   Thanks kids for your support and help.

Again this year Congregation Kol Ami made blankets for Project Linus.  They are becoming experts in the process of fringe loop fleece blanket making.  Thanks to Nicole Fenwick who coordinates the project at the Synagogue on volunteer service day.  She has discovered that she can have children help.  Even if they can’t use the scissors safely, their little fingers can pull fringe thru holes nicely.

Our Chapter is achieving its goals and all of you are to be thanked whether you sew, cut, shop, deliver, label, package, donate, etc – each job is necessary and appreciated.   Thanks to all volunteers.

See you on blanket making day – February 6th,  10:00 – 2:00 at Our Saviours Lutheran Church 2500 East 3900 South.

Hugs,   Millie
