Giving Thanks

November is a month centered around gratitude and generosity.  In the spirit of "Thanks" and "Giving" and taking a cue from Jimmy Fallon's lighthearted "Thank You Notes" segment, we would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all of those who contribute so much to the success of our project.

Thank you to all of our dedicated Blanketeers who generously give their time and talent at our Blanket Making Days.  These gatherings not only produce beautiful blankets but also foster community, friendship, and shared purpose.  And thank you to all the anonymous blanketeers out there who donate to support our chapter.

Thank you to Jackie and Chris for coordinating the monthly blanket making day for the "Riverton Group" and for their consistent and generous contributions of blankets each month.  Your ongoing commitment makes a tremendous difference.

Thank you to Our Saviour Lutheran Church and Mountain Vista Methodist Church and their parishioners and staff for their continued support and for providing us with space for our blanket making days.  Your hospitality allows us to fulfill our mission and serve our community more effectively.

Thank you to the quilters at Mountain Vista Methodist Church who meet weekly to create beautiful quilts and blankets for our chapter.  Your craftsmanship, dedication  and your monthly contributions are much appreciated.

Thank you to Sweet Charity Sisters quilters for your thoughtful donation of quilts.  Your continued support of our chapter is deeply appreciated and helps us bring comfort and care to those in need.

Thank you to those who support our project behind the scenes.  From cutting fabric, making deliveries, assisting with set up and clean up, or performing the many unseen tasks that keep our efforts running smoothly.  Your quiet dedication is indispensable.

Thank you to those who have donated fabric and yarn to our chapter.  The many generous donations of fabric and yarn have been distributed among our quilters and crocheters.  Your donations enable them to create beautiful blankets that bring comfort to children in need.

Thank you to Quilts, Etc., in Sandy for serving as a drop-off location for blanket donations.  Your partnership provides a convenient and central space for our Blanketeers and community members to contribute to our chapter.

Thank you to Smith's Inspiring Donations program and the 19 households connected to our chapter.  Through your households participation, our chapter receives quarterly donations from Kroger.  We are grateful for your on-going support.

Thank you to the many local Walmart stores for awarding generous grants to our chapter.  These funds play a crucial role in helping us continue our mission within the local community.

And lastly, a huge thank you to Millie for your unwavering dedication and incredible leadership.  Your hard work and organization truly keep our chapter running smoothly and successfully.  We are grateful to you and your husband for so kindly opening your home to store our fleece, yarn and inventory.  Your guidance, encouragement, and good sense are invaluable.  Our chapter simply wouldn't be what it is today without you.

As we celebrate this season of gratitude, we are reminded that our success is made possible by the collective kindness, creativity, and generosity of so many.

Thank you all for helping us bring warmth and comfort to so many children, one blanket at a time.

A Grateful Pause on Fabric & Yarn Donations

This year, we've been literally wrapped in generosity!  Thanks to our wonderful supporters, we've received an abundance of beautiful fabric and yarn.  So much, in fact, that our shelves are overflowing and starting to look like a craft store exploded!

Because of this happy "problem", we are hitting the pause button on accepting cotton quilting fabric and yarn donations for now.  Our goal is to make the most of what we currently have before we take on more.

We are still happily accepting donations of quality fleece, flannel and batting, which continue to be in high demand for our cozy blanket making.

If you are working on a Project Linus blanket and need yarn, please reach out!  We have plenty to share and would love to pass some along to keep our projects going strong.

If someone you know has fabric or yarn to donate, don't worry.  We've updated the "Ways to Help" tab on our blog.  Under the "Materials Donations" section we've listed contacts of other organizations that may be in need and will gladly accept donations.

Smith's Inspiring Donations 3rd Quarter Update

As mentioned in our "thank you's" above, we currently have 19 households supporting our chapter through Smith's Inspiring Donations!  We've been aiming for at least $100 in donations each quarter this year.

We are thrilled to share that our 3rd quarter total came in at $96!

We are so close to hitting that $100 mark!  If you are a Smith's shopper and haven't linked your rewards card to our chapter yet, now is the perfect time to do it.  Please encourage your friends and family to join in too.  It's a great way to support our chapter every time you shop.

Smith's donates 0.5% of eligible purchases directly to our chapter.  With the holiday shopping season right around the corner, we are confident we can reach (and maybe even surpass!) our goal in the 4th quarter!

Link your card here:  Smith's Inspiring Donations and designate "Project Linus Salt Lake County" as the organization or "VJ225" as the organization number.
